In the latest versions of FAGUS a very useful new function has been incorporated. The possibility to tell the program how the different elements of the cross-section are incorporated during the construction.
In this way, if we add to the contour names the suffixes #1, #2... we can make a stress analysis equivalent to what we would do with the Serial Calculation, but in a much simpler way as illustrated in these images:
In this example, we are loading the metal section (#1) with a moment My =12 KNm, and we ask FAGUS to show us the stresses:
Then, the complete section (already stressed) is reloaded with a moment My = 12 KNm
As we can see, the metallic part increases its stress state and the metallic part starts to have stresses, but the resistant section is the whole.
With this new function, despite being very simplified, it is very easy to perform this type of tasks, so common in FAGUS analysis, with the advantage of being able to see the results on the screen without the need to record them in a report (Serial Calculation).
