DXF line import offers a simple import option in all programs except MURUS and PYRUS. However, the functionality is limited compared to the import functionality of the CADview option:
- No colors, line thicknesses, hatching, text, etc.
- No grouped objects (blocks).
- No large drawings.
The imported DXF data is integrated into the project data and therefore occupies the storage space available for the static model. In contrast, a CAD drawing read with the CADview option requires much less memory and offers a qualitatively much better and faster representation of the drawing, since it is managed as a separate background drawing.
Note: You will find detailed descriptions in Chapter 10 “Importing DXF lines” of the Graphic Editor User's Manual and in the “C2 CADview” section of the CEDRUS User's Manual.
