If you get an error like this when opening any of your programs:
There are some procedures you can follow to make sure that both, the server and the computer from which the program is running, (they can be the same computer) meet all the requirements for proper operation.
First of all we recommend to check if there is any pending update from your CubusExplorer and update if it is the case.
If the error persists after the update, it may be due to several reasons:
It may be that the IP address entered on the users' computers is incorrect. Verify that it is the IP of the computer/server where the security dongle is connected. To do this, go to “Properties > Licenses and updates” from CubusExplorer.
The following window will appear where you can check and/or change the IP on which the computer is searching for the key. To change the address click on “Add IP address”.
If once we have made sure that the data are correct, the error still appears, it could be a problem with the drivers that control the security key. To confirm that it is working correctly, you should follow the following steps on the users' computers. Access the following folder on your computer.
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Cubus Software\2410\CubusShared\Aladdin\Install”.
(This address may vary depending on the current version of the programs. In this case the version used is “2410”).
Run the following “.bat” files as administrator in the following order:
1.- purge.bat
2.- remove.bat
3.- install.bat
Check if the error still appears. If so, we will check that the Windows service that controls the security key is running. Open the Windows services panel (start>services) and check that the “HL-Server” service is running on the computer where the security dongle is connected and that it is in automatic mode. If the service is stopped we activate it and mark it in automatic mode.
If all the previous steps still do not solve the problem, we must make sure that the license is not occupied by any other computer. To do this we use the tool “aksmon.exe” that we find in the following directory “C:\Program Files (x86)\Cubus Software\2410\CubusShared\AladdinTools”. If no computer is using the license the table should appear completely empty. In the example of the image below we can see that there is a computer connected. We can release the license by selecting the corresponding row and clicking on “Delete Entry” just below the table.
If the license is free and we still cannot connect to the key, it may be because our antivirus or firewall is blocking some file or process of our programs. We must make sure that this is not the case. We must also check that port “3047 UDP/TCP” is open on both the server and the client computer.
If none of the above solutions solve the problem, we recommend contacting CUBUS technical support.
