When a joint is entered in a CEDRUS model, it is possible to define its characteristics by means of the dialog box that appears when the “Structure” tab button is pressed:
As can be seen, there is a section of the table dedicated to the behavior of the joint from the point of view of rotation (moments) and another section of the table where we can define the behavior against vertical displacement (shear).
A CEDRUS joint will in no case transmit horizontal forces, so there is no characteristic of that element to govern its behavior in that sense. So much so that in the results tab, when we ask for values for the joint, it only gives us the option to see the moments and shear:
If we ask the program to provide us with the numerical table summarizing the stresses in the joint, we see that it only provides shear and moments, which will depend on the characteristics of the joint against these movements (stiffness to rotation and vertical displacement):
