Possible errors
CubusExplorer notifies you about an update and also offers automatic update - provided you have installation rights.
In certain cases, the automatic update fails despite installation rights.
On the one hand, this is the case if several BNs (user numbers) have been installed. As the installation is user-specific, CubusExplorer can no longer “know” for which installation the update should be performed.
On the other hand, it is possible that the software has been installed with an administrator account for all users. Since in this case a user does not have access to the installation files, no automatic update can be performed.
Client installation
With these update errors, the update MUST be performed manually. You can either click the [Download installation files now in browser] button in CubusExplorer or call the URL “install.cubus.ch” in the browser. You must then enter the BN you are using and the corresponding InstallKey. You will find this information on your delivery note. You will find the “Upgrade code” in CubusExplorer in the “Licenses and upgrades” dialog box as a 7-digit numerical sequence. However, the field can also be left blank. In this case, download all available packages and install them in the same order.
If you register with an update code, the new packages to be downloaded are highlighted in red. Packages highlighted in green are correspondingly updat
For students
If an error occurs with the automatic update during a student installation, a different procedure must be followed. For these installations, you can also access install.cubus.ch via the [Download installation files now in the browser] button. However, students do not have an InstallKey. You must therefore log in to your Cubus Campus account in the browser (campus.cubus.ch). You will be redirected via the [Install software now] button and can download the latest software. Download all available packages and install them in the same order.
Finally
After completing the manual update installation, you must restart CubusExplorer for the update to be applied.
