FAGUS carries out the homogenization of the cross-sections automatically. If, for a given section, we go to the variants tab, click on the icon and we see the “Details of the mechanical characteristics”:
It can be seen how the homogenization of the section is carried out according to the modulus of elasticity. In this case, the reference object for homogenization is C3, with a C6 material, for this reason, its factor is w=42/42=1.00, while that of object C1, with a C2 material, is w=33/42=0.79. Therefore, we already have our mechanical characteristics automatically homogenized:
We take this opportunity to make some considerations. We can take into account the reinforcement in this homogenization. To do this, click on and select the option shown in the following figure:
In addition, it is also important to know what the reference material is being. In the table above, we see that it is automatically defined by default, but it is always a good idea to check it. In this case, the reference material should be C6:
